FAQ & policies
How the CE Fund, registration and cancellations work. If anything here is unclear, we'd love to hear from you.
The CE Fund
What is the CE Fund?
It's your personal continuing education fund with IDA-SI. You contribute $100.00 a month, and each contribution becomes credit you can use toward any class IDA-SI offers or hosts, whenever the timing is right for you.
When is my credit added?
As soon as each monthly payment goes through. You can see your credit and full history anytime under My fund.
Can I cancel my membership?
Yes, anytime. Go to My fund → Manage membership. Contributions stop at the end of your current month, and the credit you've built stays yours to use.
Does my credit expire?
No. Your credit stays available for future IDA-SI classes, including after you cancel your membership.
Can I get my credit back as cash?
Credit is non-refundable and can't be exchanged for cash, but it can be used on any class offered or hosted by IDA-SI.
Registering for a class
What do I need before registering?
A completed profile, including an active license to touch, which is required to attend IDA-SI classes. You enter it once and it's used for every class.
How does pricing work?
Each class has a regular price. Many also have an early bird price, applied automatically through the early bird deadline.
IDA-SI students, alumni and faculty receive 15% off the regular price. This is added to your account by IDA-SI. If it's missing, email admin@ida-si.org. Discounts don't combine: affiliates always receive the affiliate price.
How do deposits work?
Many classes ask for a deposit (often $300.00) to reserve your seat. Your CE credit is applied to the deposit first, and you pay anything left by card on Stripe's secure page.
Your seat is held for 7 days while you complete the deposit. If it isn't paid by then, the seat is released and any credit you used is returned to your fund.
When is the remaining balance due?
The day before class starts, unless the class says otherwise. 14 days before it's due, we automatically apply the CE credit you have at that point, including contributions made since you registered, and email an invoice for anything left.
You can also pay your balance early anytime from My fund.
If you register within 14 days of the due date, the full price is due at registration.
What if my balance isn't paid on time?
You stay registered, and we'll reach out to help. Your balance needs to be paid before class begins.
Waitlists
What if a class is full?
You can join the waitlist from the class page. It's free: there's no deposit or charge unless a seat opens and you choose to register. You can leave the waitlist anytime.
How are open seats offered?
More than 14 days before class: the seat is offered to the next person in line and held for them for 48 hours. We'll email you, and it will show on your My fund page. If you don't register within 48 hours, the seat passes to the next person.
Within 14 days of class: everyone on the waitlist is notified at once, and the first person to register gets the seat.
What happens when I claim a seat?
You register like anyone else: your CE credit is applied, and any deposit or balance works the same way.
Cancellations
Cancelling 14 or more days before class
Any CE credit you used goes back into your fund.
For anything you paid by card, you choose: a refund to your card, or credit in your CE fund for a future class.
Cancelling less than 14 days before class
Everything you've paid, both credit and card, goes back into your CE fund as credit for any future IDA-SI class. Nothing is deducted from it.
A separate $50.00 late-cancellation administrative fee is invoiced and paid by card. It's never taken from your credit. The fee needs to be paid before you can register for another class.
Cancelling before my deposit is paid
You can release your seat anytime from My fund. Nothing is charged, and any credit you used is returned.
How do I cancel?
Go to My fund → My classes → Cancel registration. You'll see exactly what happens to your credit and payments before you confirm.
What if IDA-SI cancels a class?
You receive a full refund. IDA-SI can't cover travel or lodging costs, so we recommend refundable bookings where possible.
Your account
How do I sign in?
The first time, choose "Email me a code". We'll send a one-time code to confirm your email and create your account.
After that, you can create a password under Profile (your browser can save it) and sign in with "Password". Email codes always work too, including if you forget your password. You stay signed in on your device until you sign out.
I didn't get the sign-in email
It can take a minute to arrive. Check your spam or promotions folder, and if you find it there, mark it as "Not spam" so future emails from admin@ida-si.org reach your inbox. Still nothing? Request a new code, or email us.
How do I update my card or find receipts?
Go to My fund → Manage membership for your monthly contribution. Class invoices and receipts are emailed by Stripe when you pay.
Who can I talk to?
We're happy to help. Email admin@ida-si.org.
